Hafiz ("the App") is a Quran reading and memorization application developed by Motaz Bany Amer. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Hafiz collects minimal, anonymized data to improve the app experience:

• Firebase Anonymous Authentication: A random anonymous ID is generated on first launch. No name, email, phone number, or personal information is collected.
• Firebase Analytics: We collect anonymized usage events (e.g., which features are used, app opens, screen views). This data cannot be linked to your identity.
• Firebase Crashlytics: If the app crashes, anonymized crash reports are sent to help us fix bugs. These include device model, OS version, and stack traces — no personal data.
• Reading Preferences: Your reading position, bookmarks, and language preference are stored locally on your device and synced to your anonymous Firebase account.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

• No names, email addresses, or phone numbers
• No location data
• No contacts or photos
• No advertising identifiers
• No third-party tracking or ad networks

4. How We Use Your Data

• To save and restore your reading position and bookmarks
• To understand which features are most used (aggregate analytics)
• To identify and fix crashes and bugs

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your data with any third party. Firebase services are provided by Google and are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your reading data is stored locally on your device using an encrypted SQLite database. Anonymous sync data is stored in Google Firebase servers with industry-standard security measures.

7. Children's Privacy

Hafiz does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app uses only anonymous authentication, no personal data is collected from users of any age.

8. Your Rights

You can clear your local data at any time by uninstalling the app. Since all data is anonymous, there is no personal data to request or delete from our servers.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
